Thai Prime Minister worries 2nd wave spread at entertainment venues after easing

Featured Replies

PM should be worried- very worried. Thailand is and will remain at the mercy of Covid 19 for some time to come.  Time to adopt a more sensible strategy; the present one can only lead to second waves and economic catastrophe.

Well, is there Covid in Thailand or not!   Can't have it both ways - either there is and we may get a second wave or there isn't, in which case he is worrying about nothing!

Its easy to say for rich asses trying to survive at all costs no matter how many people standing in line for food, without jobs, unpaid debt which interests are raising every month...its impossible to keep country shutdown for so long and THE second wave will come with or without tourists that is a reality, look at China they didnt had cases for 2 or 3 months (if we are ready to believed so) but yet again outbreak happened in Beijing and full lockdown of the city happened. What they claimed? Ofcourse they blamed Norwegian salmon, Thais will also blame foreigners even if the case is not from foreigners and could be from Thai.

The narrative here and in China is the same: Not only has Covid 19 been controlled, it has been eradicated and the only recent cases are from elsewhere. Thai people can't get it from other Thai people here. The only infected Thais are those who were just recently in polluted foreign lands. Same in China. If that salmon were Chinese salmon, it wouldn't have brought in the virus again. So, yes, as soon as local transmissions are identified, expect them to be linked to non-Thais and probably not Chinese visitors.

It's a precursor to "I told you so" when there are clusters found in bars or nightclubs
