Police Clearance--non Immigrant Visa

Featured Replies

Greetings!

Currently I am finishing a two year contract at an international school here in Thailand. I will be working starting August at another international school also in Thailand. A police clearance was not required when I obtained my initial non-immigrant visa from the Thai Embassy in the U.S. several years ago, but I realize times have changed.

My question is, do I need to obtain a clearance both from Thailand and the U.S? Thanks is advance for your help.

Rick

I believe your clearance has to be from Thailand if you have lived here. Suspect they check with FBI. You might want to ask in the teacher forum.

If you need a new visa, check the website and follow up with an email or direct phone call, to the Thai consulate you're most likely to get the visa, and mention you're a teacher. If you can get the FBI clearance, do so, especially if you can get the clearance delivered to a safe address where you'll be in the US.
