Dumbastheycome
Today we had significant rainfall for several hours and a lingering possibility of more. I notice that now it has almost ceased there is relative silence. Unusual and slightly disconcerting ! There is an absolute absence of usual wet season frogs chorusing away ! Silence ! The house is surrounded by a garden and there are fields for the cows / buffalo a few metres away. When the frogs and toads arrive the dog barks when they move or hovers over them if they don't. The local people used to catch them and dredge for other swimming edibles, they don't do that now due to the change in rainfall. Although this area was flooded for the first time in 50+ years on Sept 1st last year.
Pilotman
Plenty of frogs in my area, great fun for the cats who roam around at night. Perhaps the OP's area cats are very successful in catching them?
