Our son - a 15 month old Jack, has developed some sort of blisters on his body. He's an indoor dog, & we keep him clean & Vaccinations are up to date, as is his worming (Bravecto). He is eating well is lively & appears normal.

Took him to the vet, & apart from her taking a couple of these spots off, didn't know what they were. She did say, that they are not Ticks.

Mrs F combed him earlier & the pictures below show the hair with some sort of matter on them.

Any suggestions....?

Another picture showing two of these black blisters under his tail. They were easily picked off, without leaving anything.

Ur dog was 15 years old - his dog is 15 months old. Big difference.

More likely this ........ Superficial bacterial folliculitis is an infection that causes sores, bumps, and scabs on the skin. These skin abnormalities are easier to see in shorthaired dogs. ... Folliculitis often occurs in conjunction with other skin problems, such as mange, allergies, or injury.

Or this .........  Black specks on your dog or in your dog's bed may be “flea dirt” – the fecal matter from adult fleas. There are two easy ways to check for black specks: Run a flea comb over your dog, making sure the comb reaches the skin through the coat. ... If black specks appear on the towel, it may be flea dirt.

Take care. ????

Did the vet take a swab and put it under the microscope?  In the last 2 weeks, we have taken our dog to the animal clinic with a brown and black spot on his ear.  The vet was very thorough in cleaning it up and examining the swab.  He showed us the microscope pics in real time and concluded that it was just a skin condition and nothing to be worried about.  He gave us cream and spray and a short course of antibiotics.  It now seems to be clearing up nicely.  He has told us to return this week and if things hadn't improved (which they have) he was going to take a sample for further lab work. I would get a second opinion from a larger animal hospital or clinic.

Ok thanks, I'll do just that, the vet we went to, on reflection only wanted to extract money - albeit 450 bt.

Having my morning coffee now, & he's just jumped up on the sofa with me. ????
