LONDON (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Boris Johnson promised a "Rooseveltian" boost to public spending to help the country's economy recover from the coronavirus shock and said a return to austerity would be a mistake.

Thailand’s PM defends further extension of national state of emergency

Thailand’s Prime Minister, General Prayut Chan-o-cha, defended Monday’s decision to extend the national state of emergency until end of July, noting that there is still a high risk of a second wave of COVID-19 infections, as the country enters the 5th phase of lockdown relaxation.

Thailand plans $1.6 billion fund for small firms hit by virus outbreak

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand will seek cabinet approval next week for a 50 billion baht ($1.62 billion) fund to help small businesses affected by the coronavirus outbreak, a deputy prime minister said on Monday.

Registration for tourism stimulus schemes postponed to July 13

Registration for three domestic tourism stimulus packages – Kum Lang Jai (Encouragement), Rao Pai Tiew Gun (Let’s travel together), and Tiew Pan Suk (Trips to share happiness) – has been postponed from July 1 to July 13.

PHUKET:-- Tens of thousands of people left out of work leaving Phuket to go home, no tourists, a nightly curfew for nearly three months, an alcohol ban and the deadly Songkran holidays being “postponed” has not stopped 34 people from dying on Phuket’s roads since the start of  the year.
