So? That isn't saying a AR-15 is an assault rifle is is? Note the modifications.

Fear has become entrenched on both sides, while people are scared they  often are not able to listen or act rationally,

I am afraid that the leaders are not doing very much to quell the fear or to bring rational debate about. I do not think "United" is applicable to the US anymore nor will it be for many years to come.

I watched some of the video of the incident and read some background info. The couple claim they saw some of the protesters with weapons when they were outside, went back into their house, called the police, armed themselves and went outside to confront the protesters. IMO to escalate the situation with alleged armed protesters by exposing themselves, carrying weapons and pointing them at protesters, reported the female at one point had her finger on the trigger of her gun, was an act of gross stupidity. May well be lawful to do so, but I seriously doubt if they went through self protection training they would not have taken such an idiotic course of action.

If there were armed protester/s with intent to do harm, she would have likely been killed. US officials and some members say it's OK, she's acting within the law, I say she's a fool.

Yesterday, I watched a video clip of some "peaceful protesters" who had invaded a middle class suburb in America. They were chanting something in unison, which I couldn't pick up at first. Then I realised they were shouting, "Eat the rich!"

 

Nice.

 

It was gratifying to see in the video Trump published how quickly the baying, intimidating mob backed off, as bullies and cowards generally do in the face of determined opposition.

 

But one has to ask in both cases: where were the forces of law and order who have a duty to protect as well as serve the public?

This pandemic has triggered forces that can't be stopped, the poor will get poorer and super rich get richer. Something has to snap and it will.
