Electricity outage to hit Pa Khlok, Yao islands

PHUKET: The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has announced that the electricity supply will be temporarily shut off in parts of Pa Khlok and both of the Yao islands off Phuket’s east coast on Thursday (July 9) as work is carried out on installing new high-voltage cables.

DENVER (Reuters) - Three Colorado police officers were fired and a fourth resigned after they shared photographs they took of themselves re-enacting a chokehold officers used to subdue a Black man who later died, authorities said on Friday.

MADRID (Reuters) - Spain's north-eastern region of Catalonia enforced a new lockdown on more than 200,000 people on Saturday, after several new outbreaks of the coronavirus were detected.

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan asked thousands of people to evacuate their homes on its southern island of Kyushu, media said on Saturday, following unprecedented torrential rains in which 15 people are feared dead and nine missing.

Hit-and-run driver kills monk in Chalong

PHUKET: Police are searching for the driver of a white saloon car that fled the scene after knocking down a monk on Chaofa East Rd in Chalong this morning (July 4). The monk sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
