Sanook reported that 100,000 people were using the Mo Chit bus terminal yesterday amid strict anti Covid-19 measures.

The holiday weekend that marks two Buddhist holidays including the start of Buddhist Lent means many people were returning to their hometowns yesterday.

Some 50,000 people had prebooked and 50,000 were expected to by tickets at the terminal in northern Bangkok.

Mask wearing people were met by temperature scanners and social distancing measures at the bustling station.

The Transport Company said there would be 5,183 bus trips that represented 1,700 extra services to meet demand.

There were also 200 vehicles for private hire.

Sanook said that 430,000 people are expected to use Mo Chit over the next four days.

A senior official made an inspection visit to ensure people and bus companies were following the virus rules.

I do hope the buses have been serviced properly during Covid-19 and we are not going to be subjected to gory photos on TVF!
