zeekgarcia
Have 2 sets of educational books that cannot be bought here, the reshipping company that we use in the USA has said that USPS mail has raised their shipping rates on them because of covid. The cost to send these are USPS $473 Fedex $182 DHL $298 Which would you pick? I do not know if this person was unluckly or what but one time a friend told me of a person in CM that had Fedex send them somethings they ordered from the USA and Fedex wanted to charge them several hundred dollars more in custom fees than the total cost they paid for the stuff. But after going back and forth with Fedex for almost two weeks, they got Fedex to lower their “custom fees” to a reasonable amount. Has anyone ever used Fedex or DHL to send educational books or supplies to Thailand? Or used Fedex or DHL to send anything else to them and either of these tried to force them to pay “custom fees” that were more than the item you bought? If so, did you paid the amount they asked or what did you do to get them to lower their fees? Thanks so much Edited July 10, 2020 by zeekgarcia
The Cobra
Any courier will cost you in process fees and duty. You can usually bet on 50% or more by the time they finish- bordering on criminal.

Crossy
Books are zero-rated for duty so you should just have 7% VAT on CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) value. Mark as "used text book" with a nominal value and you should be good to go. Do check those FedEx/DHL rates yourself, both websites are pretty good for checking charges.
