Exactly.  Unless they keep borders it locked down forever, it is going to come in.  Only putting off the inevitable.

But, I guess an agrarian economy can stay locked down forever.  don't need anything from outside to survive.

So we are just waiting to destoy completely world economies to realize this.

  • You dont seem to have a clue. All the new cases are Thai's returning from abroad.

  • Isn't it strange that only "retournees" cause covid-19 cases here in Thailand, in a country with such low infection cases?!   If you use your logic then you decouver contradictions.

That's not what I am suggesting, just saying it's inevitable. Thailand WILL see a rise in infections domestically when the borders open, it needs to deal with them accordingly. That will be the real test. Life will not return to normality until a vaccine is readily available

I can show you hundreds of other research showing no substantial difference between strains.

There has never been a successful covid type virus vaccine.  There will not be for this one either.

Only successful vaccine will be human immune system after being exposed.  It has to run its course and die out on its own just like every other virus.

Why would they catch it in quarantine??

HIV?
HPV?

Some viruses never die out and remain within society.
The Chinese have tested a vaccine and are now trialing it on 2 million military soldiers, supposedly. The Oxford group have a working vaccine where they have created proteins that mimic the formation of the virus, that trick the body into creating antibodies. It apparently works but they are testing it's safety on humans as we speak.

There is an annual flu vaccine, influenza mutates all of the time. Nobody said there was a vaccine for HIV

so did they bring it back or, gulp, catch it in quarantine?

Local transmissions aren't allowed under the emergency decree.

I guess the terrible european strain is getting weaker nd weaker.

Now the virus is getting badass in India,Brazil,Pakistan,Middle East.

Such a naughty virus.

The strain mutation that occurred in Europe hasn't had a chance to spread within Thailands borders, because Thailand locked down before it was able to. When the borders open to tourists it's inevitable there will be domestic infections, that's just the reality of a virus with this incubation period.

I had a Scottish friend with a cough and temperature of 39.5 centigrade. The local Government hospital said that they had no spare covid19 testing kits so sent him home with some codene pills. No test - no covid19. Simple answer as to why Thailand has low figures. He self quarantined for three weeks and luckily recovered.

Now the passengers who flown with the person will catch it too?

As I've written, the chances of catching the virus once in quarantine are very low, the precautions being taken with the quarantine are, believe it or not, quite strict.

The flu vaccine is a joke.

Very suspicious... who would have thought that people returning from countries with surging infections in the middle east would get infected by people that have covid.  I mean there should be no reason why you should not also be susceptible to infection locally in a country with no active community spread...  Ignore the doctors, COVID can spontaneously appear randomly without any known causes ????

More than 60% of new detected case are totally asympthomatic, others a bit of sore throat.

It blows my mind how easy is to brainwashed ignorant people.

This is not much of a sharp jump. 14 cases from 3 different locales. Seems that most are young asymptomatics.

...and here we go again, back up, then down...up, down, etc, etc next 2 years

If you use your logic then you decouver contradictions.

  • As far as I know, no normal tourist is allowed to enter Thailand - except diplomats, etc. "12 from Sudan", they all haven't been controlled in their country or airport of departure? The same concerning 1 patient from Bahrain and from the US, too? Unbelivable.
  • Only farangs carried the Covid-19, Thailand, but Thailand has gone 47 days without a domestic case. Incredible. Yes, if you don't test Thais, there are no cases! Trump logic.
  • Yes, I know, the time between the virus-infection and the -discovery takes more than 3 days. Therefore it's possible, that the virus could not yet be detected in the state of departure, but a short time later in Thailand. But, but .. that happened 47 days only in falang cases? Incredible.

For me it seems the military government wants to hide a lot.

The low number of cases in Thailand is no mystery.  People coming into the country are tested, people who have money and symptoms get tested ... everyone else is test free but that does not mean COVID free.

If you are not scared of CoVid then I believe you to be a fool.  I understand governments lie about anything and everything but this is not the government making a political claim, this is a worldwide consensus of independent scientists.  There is another group of sheeple being manipulated by the idea that you are clever if you go back to work right now.  This prevents an outbreak of the disease some call "socialism."  this horrible disease results in free health care and testing for all citizens.  it's horrible.

Obviously, if Covid affected people go to airports, queue up etc, buy a coffee, sit on chairs, touch tables and then the same getting on the plane, then the virus is going to spread , right ?

There is no explanation why reported cases of Covid so low except may be no testing many deaths go unvestigated at home as you cause etc. Now the main problem is financial forget about covid as worst world recession in living memory is occurring which needs immediate government action. Lock down is easy but unlocking means politicians are going to have to take big risks to help alleviate the downturn as unemployment is a greater danger to health and stability. On one hand politicians say stop mass tourism but only yesterday they signed contracts for a third Bangkok Airport why?

Those who come back to the country are tested... so some are positive.

But nobody is tested in the country like in USA, Europe, etc.. except if he has symptoms and goes to the hospital.... so no new cases ????

Those are thai people who lived or worked from another countries.  To come back to Thailand they need to get approve from Thai consulate to get charter flights.  So Thai consulate will ask for Covid test to be negative 72 hours and fit to fly document before allow them to catch the flight.  If there were negative before flight then they are possibly negative.  Asymptomatic carrier should be test as positive but does not show symptom.  So there should not be any asymptomatic carrier on the flight.  So the infected person had covid but did not show in blood test.  When they arrived in Thailand and quarantine, the covid showed up after couple day.  Now the passengers who flown with the person will catch it too?

You are not quite right in what you say. A person does not become infectious until the onset of symptoms, about 5/6 days after becoming infected, with the same initial timeframe on the asymptomatic. The test is unreliable in the first few days after becoming infected. This was a major headache for countries in their testing policy.

Also it is not generally a blood test but a nasal swab, which is why the test really needs symptoms to be accurate. Emirates were looking to use a blood test at check in but I think it also proved unreliable and has been abandoned.

People can become infected, have a test with a negative result and then become ill at their destination, or worse still become infectious just prior to boarding.

Here we go... let's test the incoming and ignore those already here so we can pretend we had everything under control until those nasty travellers returned.  Remember no testing domestically equals no covid lol.

Did the huge amount of testing in the UK stop Leicester from doing a second lockdown.
