Settapong Malisuwan

Bhumjaithai Party MP, Settapong Malisuwan, who is also deputy chair of a House committee on telecommunications, digital economy and society, said on Thursday (July 16) that he was backing Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan’s push for a law supporting aerospace businesses.

Settapong said the act will give Thailand a chance to bring its aerospace business up to international standards as well as boost the country’s economy.

Proper legislation for the business will see the establishment of a responsible organisation, resulting in a clear direction for the “new economy”, which will be driven by innovation, technology and creativity, he said.

“I fully back General Prawit who is pushing this draft because it shows he has good vision for the future,” Settapong said, adding that aerospace businesses will not just bring in revenue and create jobs but will also benefit the country as a whole.

Aerospace business is a humongous money pit, nice little earner for the peeps getting the 20-30% commission... ????

Absence of laws is not what has prevented Thailand from developing an indigenous aerospace industry.

Or an indigenous automobile or motorcycle industry.

A preference for conditioning its people as helots, and selling them (to foreign masters) as labourers, rather than educating them adequately, is what has prevented it.

It will continue to do so.

The "law" will be designed to lazily rake off more foreign wealth from foreign "enterprise".

What he actually means is an ambiguously worded legislation which will see the rise of a corrupt organisation led by cronies resulting in a undercover direction for the raking off of millions of Baht driven by greed, corruption, and nepotism by the ruling elite.

What a waste.  The country is falling apart-another bad idea, and waste of cash.  What benefit will be obtained for the huge bills.

Prawit is wide enough for the entire country to stand behind ????
