BANGKOK, July 18 (TNA) - Officials of the Land Transport Department are inspecting public transport vehicles to ensure that they comply with measures to control the coronavirus disease 2019, including the use of QR codes for passengers’ check-ins and checkouts.

Chirute Visalachitra, director-general of the department, said Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob ordered strict disease control on public transport systems.

The control measures include the measurement of body temperatures of drivers and passengers, the use of face masks and the Thaichana check-in and checkout application and the provision of alcohol gel aboard vehicles and at passenger terminals and stations.

Looks like we will now have to scan that QR code when we get on the BTS and MRT and then when we get off.  Time they just started issuing everyone an ID card which can be slid through a reader and information obtained that way.  MRT and BTS sure know when I use the system as the card I have is debited, but then the card is not registered to  anything and not connected to my Thai Pink card ID or PP.  Then there are the buses and the taxi cabs.  Big brother is upon us.  This is getting to be to much why not just insert a GPS tracker on us....yes sarcasm

Yet social distancing was eliminated and 100%+ capacity allowed. Oh, but no talking.

But clearly full account has, on the other hand, been taken of the major COVID-19 threat posed by those who, like myself, don't possess a suitable smartphone for QR code scanning purposes.

Even this way by putting their fist more on the fake pulse they can track and follow and suppress all who disagree with the Junta.

try scanning on a bumpy bus ride in the dark...
