webfact
Thai victims of ponzi scheme in Australia claim ringleader is still alive Picture: Sanook A representative of Thais living in Australian who fell victim to a ponzi scheme run by a Thai person have gone to the public prosecutor in Bangkok to investigate their claims the ringleader is still alive. Everything has gone quiet and no one has received money back after the victim said they had invested in what they thought was a legal scheme back in 2016. However, it turned out to be a pyramid fraud. Offers of high interest rates and gifts were forthcoming at first until the money dried up and investors were left with nothing. Relatives of the person who led the scheme said that that person died from cancer shortly after the crime came to light and a funeral was held in Thailand. The victims claim that the ringleader has not died but is living in the US where they have had facial reconstruction surgery to hide their identity. The Thai prosecutor has taken up the case and the first part of the investigation will be to see if in fact a death certificate was issued in the Sai Maa sub-district of Nonthaburi. OzFlyer
Sounds like my soon to be ex-wife. Another ponzi scheme. You're asking for it if with no due diligence

You're asking for it if with no due diligence A friend gets high interest and tells you about it. Ponzi schemes actually give returns to investors during the "start up" and early phases. They can do so for years. Your friend actually gets richer. Who needs diligence? Edited July 23, 2020 by Enoon
