Thailand saw 10 new confirmed Covid-19 cases in state quarantine on Friday (July 24) with zero deaths over a 24-hour period, Dr Taweesin, spokesman for the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation said. This was the 60th day since May for Thailand to not have any domestic cases.

Of the new cases, six had returned from the US, and one each from Sudan, Pakistan, Germany and the Netherlands.

As of Friday, the number of confirmed cases in the country stood at 3,279 (342 found in state quarantine), with 114 under treatment, 3,107 fully recovered and 58 deaths.

Globally, the number of confirmed cases has passed 15.651 million, up by 278,000 in the past 24 hours. Some 9.535 million people have recovered, while over 636,000 have died.

Meanwhile, the US, Brazil and India account for about half of the total infections across the world.

Thailand’s global ranking for Covid-19 cases dropped one place in 24 hours to 104.

The spokesman said Friday marked the 14th day in quarantine for people who faced the risk of getting infected after an asymptomatic Egyptian soldier was allowed to roam free in Rayong. Nobody tested positive in the last round of tests on Thursday.

Definitely not the right time to open the borders , or let air travel resume .

Did they all take a test 72 hours before arrival and test negative?

Was it a positive test at the end of their 6 days in quarantine or at the end of 12 days in quarantine?

Were  they asymptomatic or had symptoms?

How many people are there under quarantine? What percent of people in quarantine are testing positive?

I’m trying to gauge a perspective what percent of people returning from overseas passed their initial COVID-19 exam but later tested positive.

And also what percent test negative after six days in quarantine but positive after 13 days in quarantine.

I'm sure they are tested shortly after arrival, obviously (hopefully). And they would be tested before leaving quarantine, obviously (hopefully). Testing between those 2 times, it doesn't say and I'm not looking it up, but I'm just wondering, with all the precautions taken before those people fly, are they contracting the disease after arrival and maybe from the facility itself, the planes, local transport service or the caretakers at the facility and, therefore, did not bring it with them or contract it from the other travelers? Maybe there is a "typhoid Mary" in, amoungst the local Thai people.
