Should be interesting to see.  I hope they come to help businesses.

But, normally the Bangkok tourists come in on Friday evening.

Yesterday evening seemed slow was not even a normal weekend crowd least to say a long holiday weekend.

The Thai tourists  are not interested in the same "entertainment" venues as foreign tourists. They stay at their hotels by the pool, and dine at  nearby restaurants. Good news for the quality establishments of pattaya.

You are right. I know of a Thai family that tried to book into a hotel in pattaya, where the rooms cost 20K per night. The hotel was "fully booked" - at least that class of room was.

When they travel, they stay in the hotel grounds the full 2 or 3 days.

aussie regulars i know are skint and jobless so no trips planned anytime soon

Surely someone skint and  jobless does not have a visit to Pattaya on their immediate horizon..

Hard to believe. Streets are deserted.

I think the government discount is only for the rooms ????

Thais don't like to go out into the sunlight, especially the BKK vampire crowd. They'll start to smoke and will burn to death.

Only five of those are open right now but they are running at 80-90% of capacity for the holiday.

Yeah but at 40% discount. Let's see how full they are on non-discount days

That's because they are all enjoying their top end hotel room, where they are drinking sangsom from 7/11.  ????

locked in their prison island continent.

Back to the future...strangely the Thais have a similar cunning plan to teach their convicts English and send them abroad :shock1:

I've never heard of ANY of those named places in Patts... I wonder just how luxury they might be???

Only the Mera Mare is in what I consider Pattaya - the others are way up in Naklua.

Beach was very busy in Pattaya, got busier as the day wore on. I noticed that A-One and MYTT hotels on Soi 3 were far busier than they have been.
