Inaugural flight of Thai Vietjet Air from Bangkok to Khon Kaen

Suthep Maneechote, the deputy governor of Khon Kaen province in Thailand's north east was guest of honor as local dignitaries and executives gathered on the tarmac at Khon Kaen airport to greet the inaugural flight of Thai Vietjet Air from Suvarabhumi yesterday morning. 

 

Promotional ladies in revealing outfits had entertained the passengers from the Thai capital.

 

The airline will have two flights to and from the capital to Khon Kaen - one leaves at 7.30 reaching Khon Kaen at 8.35 am before the 9.05 am to 10.15 return journey.

The afternoon schedule is 3.45 - 4.50 pm returning to Bangkok at 5.20 to 6.30 pm.

 

It is part of 13 domestic routes offered by the company that is an associate airline of Vietnamese company Vietjet Air.

The airline offers international flights to Vietnam, mainland China and Taiwan and plans on expanding its international routes.

For reference, there is a Vietnamese Consulate in Khon Kaen should you need a visa for a connecting flight (after COVID) to Vietnam. I used it on a couple of occasions until UK citizens got free entry for 15 days.

Yes, but there is a difference. Until now, only Thai Smile operated between Khon Kaen and Suvarnabhumi (BBK), now that monopoly has been broken by Thai Viet Jet, no doubt offering less expensive fares, for connections to long-haul International flights without having to cross from Don Mueang (DMK) where Air Asia, Nok Air and Thai Lion Air arrive.
