April 24, 200719 yr Ang Kaew Lake at CMU? Otherwise it would be the one at the 700 Year Stadium I guess.
April 24, 200719 yr Not the best, but 10 or 20 baht, depending if you're a member: public pool in Chang Puak neighborhood, south of Simon Cabaret, on the little soi that goes east from the 7-11 if you're heading north of Chiang Mai Ram hospital, beyond the moat.
April 24, 200719 yr Ang Kaew Lake at CMU? Otherwise it would be the one at the 700 Year Stadium I guess. Wouldn't recommend the CMU reservoir Ang Kaew ever, but I know chanchao was speaking tongue-in-cheek. You have to join a gym, that has a great pool as part of the package. I go to CM Orchid. Old funky gym, but it gets the job done; machines, freeweights, etc. With the gym membership you have access to one of the best pools in CM, IMHO. Problem is, it ain't cheap. 8000 THB a yr, or 1500/mo. But I am a pool rat; swim laps almost every day- gotta have it. So check it out:
April 24, 200719 yr PS to the above- no day passes available at CM Orchid. Not sure, but heard Lotus Hotel (next door; in back of Kad Suan Kaew Central) offers day usage. Hope this helps!
April 25, 200719 yr What is the best/least expensive pool on the west side of Chiang Mai? This one has my vote!
April 25, 200719 yr Anodat Hotel upped thier price to 80, I think. Not heated, it gets chilly Dec/Jan Hotel by Gad Suan Gaew is 100. I hear it's nice, but never been there. Also, next to Gad Suan Gaew is a set of 5 highrise apartments. Yellow with blue trim. They have a small pool for 40 baht, but not sure if it's open to the public or just residents.
April 25, 200719 yr Anodat Hotel upped thier price to 80, I think. Not heated, it gets chilly Dec/Jan I don't think that there are ANY heated hotels in Chiang Mai other than Ajarn's bucket-heated pool. Most people stop swimming in December and January including me. Does anyone know of any heated pools in Chiang Mai or ones that just stay warm for some reason? Edited April 25, 200719 yr by Ulysses G.
April 25, 200719 yr The Imperial Chiang Mai resort (sportclub) has 50 m. pool but not that well maintained. Despite the occasional missionary invaders meeting, it is nice and quiet. If you apply to be a member its 1,500 Baht per month or you pay 200 baht per time. If you come with member its 100 baht. Edited April 25, 200719 yr by CMwoman
April 25, 200719 yr bucket-heated pool Actually, it's heated by a 1000 foot hose. I swim December/ January, but it's 'cool' not warm... Edited April 25, 200719 yr by Ajarn
