A senior met policeman involved in the investigation of the shootout at a Rama 3 casino in Bangkok has said that the police will be charging a man with evidence tampering after CCTV was removed

The man is apparently in custody and police hope this will lead to other charges.

Pol Maj-Gen Jiraphat Phoomjit, acting Region 5 chief of the met police, further admitted that others involved in the case are thought to have fled Bangkok.

He said that a man known as "Boy" had not yet surrendered but evidence points to him as a shooter and a warrant would be issued for his arrest today.

Two guns were believed to have been discharged during the shooting.

Filmed evidence has been circulating in the media about the removal of CCTV cameras at the building where the incident occurred.

A total of five senior policemen were earlier reported as having been transferred to inactive posts as part of the investigation, notes Thaivisa.
