As far as I'm aware, Immigration offer three classes of transportation namely:-

Economy Class

Not sure if they have meters fitted, but even if they do you can bet your bottom dollar they wont be working so price will be negotiable.

Sorry I just could not resist.  To be honest, I have no idea if they charge for transport but as you said there is possibly some hidden cost.  I will ask my wife's friend the next time we meet.

Yes, they take a charge for transportation. From Trat to Bangkok I would take a guess on about 2k baht.

  • Abused? Obviously he didn't even use the visa system, which is why he is on overstay.

  • If a free flight back home was the worst case outcome, you don't figure more folks would risk a long term overstay?  Fear of months and months as a guest of the IDC is pretty good motivation to stay o

That would barely cover the fuel cost.

Maybe they do it in the same way as some forms of public transport - you'll have to wait until the truck is full. So depending on how many others they catch who need to be transported to Bangkok, it could take a while. ????

Think at it like this. Do they pay the fuel with their pocket money? Answer: NOooo!

Number two: Hey, how would it be if we tell this guy that the transportation need to be payed by him, and not by the government? Yeah, that´s a great idea! What should we say? 2000? One for you and one for me? Ok, sounds good. Done deal!
