The reality is a Dem government has brought more prosperity, more inclusion , more social equality than ANY Gop government has ever done in the last 20 years. 
Whenever the GOP has got in, they’ve sacked the nation and sown division, it’s always been up to the Dems to clear up their mess. They’re not the same and if you think so you’re as much as part of the problem as they are.

He works there in an official capacity. That is POTUS. Not the Republicans' President. It would be more appropriate for him to accept the nomination in other settings, rather than make use of the White House. Now, I know you're going to scream that it isn't illegal, and that's alright - but the fact that you cannot even bring yourself to see that it's inappropriate, that's something else.
