The government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration reported one new case over a 24-hour period today (August 19), the 86th day without any domestic case since May.

A 37-year-old female masseuse, who returned from India (on the same flight which previously had 18 other confirmed cases), was found positive on the 11th day in state quarantine.

Meanwhile, nine patients were discharged and have returned home in the past 24 hours.

As of today, the number of confirmed cases in the country stands at 3,382 (445 found in state quarantine). Of these, 117 are under treatment, 3,207 have recovered and been discharged, and 58 have died.

Globally, the number of confirmed cases increased to 22.3 million, up by 257,000 in 24 hours, with 15 million having recovered and 784,000 dying. Thailand presently ranks 115th for most Covid-19 cases in the world. The US has the highest number (5.65 million), followed by Brazil (3.41 million) and India (2.76 million).

So India will be off the "twin country scheme" ??

The person tested positive 11 days after being on a flight with 18 infected people on. I wonder when she became infected and if she will have to bear the cost of any treatment

There are three possible explanations

1. 14 day quarantine is not enough (Unlikely)

2. Tests are unreliable

3. Transmitted within Thailand from another infected person

 what is most likely explanation?
