Has anyone any knowledge or experience of a Deed of Variation? its something that can be done yourself without the cost of a lawyer and can be used when a person dies intestate (without leaving a will). I have searched the internet for a possible template or an example letter, all to no avail. Thanks in advance for any constructive help that can be offered.

Who is the executor??     they can change the will if they have the permission of all the beneficiaries.

It is technically possible to make changes to a will by the executor creating a deed of variation.

but If everyone is not on the same mind set as you-------you really do need legal help.

You save 15000 for a will, your heirs will spend fortune for lawyers later.

...as I don't deal with UK or English Law, while you wait for someone (hopefully) who has actual experience, might I suggest checking out a google search:

Suggest you append the word intestacy onto the google search
