Auto production changes gear in July as factories resume manufacturing

Automobile production in July slumped by 47.71 per cent year on year, the automobile chapter of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) said recently.

 

However, the total production of 89,336 units marked a 24.59 per cent growth in output over the previous month.

 

The chapter's vice president and spokesperson, Surapong Paisitpattanapong, explained that the increase in production in July was caused by the reopening of automobile enterprises or factories in the country.

 

He added that 695,468 automobile units were manufactured during January to July, down by 43.77 per cent from the same period in 2019.

 

Total domestic sales were 59,335 in July, down 24.8 per cent year on year but up 2.28 per cent month on month.

 

Overseas exports of automobiles in July was 49,564, down 39.67 per cent year on year. The value of this export amiunted to Bt28.848 billion, falling by 28.47 per cent year on year.

Well I ordered a Honda last month and was told a 2 month wait so I hope they get back and do some work

Just hope they finish it before the redundancy notices go out, it might be delivered with a few faults.
