The Commerce Ministry’s Trade Policy and Strategy Office (TPSO) launched a website on Thursday (August 20) to help small and medium-sized business (SME) owners plan their operations using analytics technology.

Pimchanok Vonkorpon, TPSO director general, said the www.คิดค้า.com or “think trading” website will help boost the competitiveness of SMEs by delivering insightful trade data and analysis on market demand, so they can make informed decisions. The website also provides in-depth analysis of the trade market to executives and academics from both public and private sectors.

“The website’s main feature is the Analytics Dashboard, which provides updates on key agricultural products in areas such as import and export volumes, demands in target markets and risks from competitors so business owners can plan their next step accordingly,” she said. “In the early phase, the website will prioritise rice, oil palm and rubber, and will gradually add data from other produce including tapioca, corn for animal feed and durian.

“The website also features news and hot issues in domestic and global trading sectors with analysis and suggestions from experts to help entrepreneurs stay abreast with market situation,” she added. “Under ‘Market Indicators’ section there are useful key indicators related to business and livelihood such as interest rate, consumer product price and cost of living. The ‘Policy Highlight’ section brings you updates on policies and projects implemented by agencies under the Commerce Ministry as well as promotional campaigns for entrepreneurs. And lastly, the ‘Trade Tips’ section will provide useful tips and techniques in trade negotiation as well as list of services that can help entrepreneurs conduct their business with ease.”

The website was launched to mark the ministry’s centennial.

It's painful to see how out of touch they really are with what SME's really need.

I would like to support Thai SMEs, but they don't let me in the country

More inane bits traversing the net. At least a kilobyte or two.
