Someone told me they moved out because of Phuket had gone from tropical to concrete????

They went north to Khao Lak.

Talking of which, couple of years ago we went to Khao Lak for a few days.  Krua Thai restaurant was the No. 1 on tripadvisor and we went and had, 2 cocktails, 5 dishes, 3 beers, rice and water, all very good, and the bill was B950. Must go back later.
