Boy, 3, playing with hand sanitizer gel goes up in flames after being set alight by elder brother

Sanook reported that a three year old boy called Captain who was playing with sanitizer gel on the front porch before going to school was set alight by his elder brother.

In his innocence the elder sibling had picked up a cigarette lighter.

Captain was left with severely burned arms and left leg after the incident on Monday last week.

Yesterday the district chief and other local officials in Phrapradaeng went to visit the family.

An uncle of the boy said he heard screams as the boys were in their school uniforms preparing to go to school.

He rushed and put out the flames that took nearly 20 minutes (Thaivisa believes Sanook meant seconds).

The officials spoke to the boys' grandmother, a 49 year old woman.

The parents were not mentioned in the Sanook report.

Sanitizer gel is mostly alcohol so no surprise that it caught fire.

Lighters are often used to start cooking fires and seem to be apart of nearly every household.I never liked the idea of hand sanitisers and prefer washing with soap and water. The bloody hand sanitisers should be banned as can be seen they are dangerous.

i mean even without the sanitizer wich contains alcohol therefore is a fire accelerant  why did the elder brother set fire to his younger bro?

My god I hope it was seconds. Can you imagine having them take 20 minutes to put out flames when you are on fire....even 20 secs would not be fun

The problem isn't so much the sanitizer as it is the cheapos that won't buy it and make their own so instead of something relatively safe their mixing napalm.

Most the sanitizers are alcohol mixed with aloe Vera. Napalm is gasoline and polystyrene. Big difference.
