Thai media bemoans Pattaya Police driving the wrong way down Walking Street

Pattaya Update news published what they said was evidence of Tourist Police volunteers going the wrong way down Walking Street exiting via the Beach Road entrance.

The media said that the road was strictly one way after traffic was allowed from August 7th.

They said that tourists both foreign and Thai were perplexed by the attitude of the police on bikes and in pick-ups who had decided it was one law for them and one for everyone else.

They were setting a poor example.

The media appealed to the chief of police to take action to rein in his lawbreaking men before someone is hurt and before the good name of Pattaya is tarnished.

No signs and easy for people to be confused but not the police though, they often wait at the entrance for people coming the wrong way to get 400 off them

A few years ago a Minister in the Government announced that prostitution didn't exist in Thailand merely wives for rent by the hour, day, week or some other agreed period. Obviously the BIB couldn't ask the bars if they employed wives for rent!

T'was ever thus. I am surprised anyone is surprised.

Why surprised, they do the same on Pattaya Beach Road both on the pavement (Pedestrian Walkway) also on the main Beach Road .......!!!!

SO what?? I do see them here doing the same, they drive where ever they like, so also in Thailand.

Nothing weird about that. Police is above the law.

USA police gun down people, Belarus, people protest , taken from street and then beaten black and blue.

Forgotten Syria? Police were using even bombs with chemicals and fire bombs. Because they were protesting against dictator. People dying, as the police is squeezing out all your breath, not only USA , also here. Police, protect and serve, yeah right, but not common man.

But they were only going one way.

When the police boss questioned

The Tourist police about going the wrong way.. He asked them ..Didn't you see the arrows... The reply was

I didn't even see the Indians..

If you can drive a bike anywhere you want , there seem to be no rules, why not cars ?  The police men in Pattaya are good trained already from childhood.  "Me now police , can do anything. "

He needs to look harder. There's loads of tailors shops near Walking Street.

The police seem in lockstep with many  of the privledged and corrupt classes. They are hardly the role models one would expect from servants of the public. Police reform was dead on arrival in 2014.

Beach Road is one way so so they just drive on the sidewalk dodging the pedestrians.

It was a misprit.

He said 'tarmacked' and was referring to upgrading the Walking street road surface to allow the police to drive faster.

Yes, but he was also blind. Stop pick on people with handicap.

Come on, is this seriously anything we did not know!

Thailand's good name has been dragged through the dust by Thai police almost every day I have lived here.  They strut about in their too-tight-in-the-crotch uniforms, ignoring law breakers unless there's some baht in it for them.  Along with whistle-blowing car park attendants, Makro bill checkers and Thaiwatsadu shop assistants, they merely draw a wage for getting up in the morning.

the bill checkers at Makro.....really do a first class job.....and I love to hear whistles being blown  whilst reversing out of a car parking bay (FOODLAND is a great place to go for whistles)  !!!!!!
