Getting rid of Thai search results

Recommended Posts

When I enter a search in google, majority of the results are in Thai, which I get p**sed about.

My location is set to US. Language in Google is set to English.

Location is set to " do not allow location", and remember my choice, yet when I refresh the page it shows my location again at the bottom of the page.

How to get rid of this nuisance?

do you use a vpn ?  I do and none of that happen but if I don't it all comes back up and have same settings as you. The internet doesn't appear to care about our settings, it only cares about the IP location, your IP without vpn (assuming) being in Thailand thus all search reverts to Thai, it's a pixx off situation but that's what I found out.... good luck

Do I have to do that each and every search again, or will it be saved?

every single time and only works with google, if you use any other search engine (yahoo) not the same, been there done that, only the vpn solved it

Settings

Search Settings

Region

will fix this, but I don't know what it does to actual search results.

Thanks, I set it to US and now all results are in English.

This now brings up another question lol

Which would be the best region to set to?

Have never had anything but English search results on any browser, including Chrome (used daily)

And I get results in German (preferred).

All a question of correct setting in Windows and/or browser.

I use advanced search for the exact opposite: getting results in Thai/from Thailand or English/US etc.

My location in Region and Language is set to US.

Administrative language is set to English.

My browser language is set to English United states.

Google displays in English.

Google search and my browser have "use current location" blocked

Yet the only solution was the one @treetops gave in post #6
