Can my 5 years UK visa gets extension?

Recommended Posts

No.  UKVI do not extend the validity of visas.  UKVI would also likely say that you could have used the visa, as there has been no ban on entry to the UK from Thailand (I'm assuming that you are Thai or in Thailand ?).   The visa is valid until 2025 ?  I'm sure that you will be able to use it before then.

@Tony M I mean my visa shrink to 4 Years or even 3 years..

As @Tony M has advised you, your visa will remain valid for the full length printed on the Visa Vignette.

The UKVI will not extend the validity of your visa, there has been no restriction on travel to the UK, even though your original plans may not have panned out as you'd wished for and your return to Thailand may have been difficult.

"The UKVI will not extend the validity of your visa,"

That is not quite true, it was stated by the UKVI some months ago, not going to look for the reference, that someone with a visitor visa and arrival was delayed due to covid could apply to the UKVI to have the visa extended until planned departure provided departure was within the 6 month period that would have normally been allowed.

You are right to the extent that it cannot be done on visas that have not been used.

In March, my wife got 2 visas, UK and Morroco, both of which have and will expire unused.

@sandyf, let's not confuse things, I was replying to the OP, and as I and TonyM corretly said "The UKVI will not extend the validity of your (his) visa".

You seem to be referring to the emergency covid conditions which allow those stuck in the UK to have their leave automatically extended, that concession doesn't apply to the OP.
