Went and did everything for my parent extension about 2 months ago. Due to go back and get my stamp 21st. Mrs rang this morning and said approval hasn't come yet and likely one week after the pick up date. Woman was quite abrupt on the phone apparently. She said now all visa approval information from HO or wherever they come from at least one week late. Couple of things. Still have my 400k in the bank but sailing close to the wind and loathe to bring more across. Technically the requirement for a parental extension money in the bank the day you apply...not 2 months before etc but according to my IO they want money in 2 months before. I believe you should also have the money in the bank up until the time you get approval back and proper stamp, though they have never asked me for this before.

Anyone else heard the same thing approvals delayed a week from HO? I mean how busy can they be atm?

My "subject to approval" stamp finishes on the 21st but they tell me not to bother coming in until 25th. What does this mean if I get pulled up and asked for my passport?

Anyone (wife or parental extension) ever been asked to show balance above 400k after approval when they return to get the ext stamp in the Passport?

Do I need to keep the 400k in the bank only up until the 21st or however long it will take them to have the approval come back?

Probably best place to ask these questions Immigration office but they are quite abrupt and rude on the phone and quite a distance for us to drive just to ask a question.

I suspect Division 4 is busier than normal due to the deadline (the 26th of this month) to apply for extension based upon being a parent of or marriage to a Thai.

I applied for my extension based upon marriage last month and am due to go in for the stamp on Friday. Wife called yesterday and the approval was not back yet. The approval was done on September 4th by Division 4 last year so expected it to be ready already this year.

No problem if it is late getting approved. The under consideration stamp allows you to stay in the country until it is approved.

Not sure about 400k baht question. I think your office is the only place can answer that question. Perhaps go in on the 21st and ask them and show them your updated bank book.
