Hello all,

I just got back from MTT where they gave me an "under consideration" stamp on my original METV that then moved to the amnesty.  I asked why and she said "you have special case so supervisor must decide."  I asked what is special and she said my stamp says I should have left in May.  Is this why everybody is getting "under consideration" stamps, because we all should have left a while ago?  She said I had to come back on 12 October and "pay money" but she didn't say how much.  I've looked around the recent posts about the "under consideration" stamps but nobody else seems to have been told of the need to pay more money.  What would happen if I left on or before 12 Oct without going back for the results of the consideration?  Could that complicate future visa applications?  Also, if the consideration is accepted, what will be the result?  Would I be able to stay 30 days from 26 Sept, or 30 days from 12 Oct -- or something else...? Thanks in advance for your perspectives

Nothing would happen and it would probably be the best solution.

Who knows what they will decide? Their consideration may be that you have to leave within 7-days or even ASAP. I would stick with the "known unknown" of leaving before 12 Oct.

I think that was a minunderatnding if have already paid the 1900 baht fee. There is no additional fee to get the remainder of the 30 days.

The special extension has to be approved at the division lever of immigration.

Leaving before getting the remainder of the 30 days is a grey area. You could be denied leaving (not likely but possible).

IMO my opinion it would be best not to leave before that day to avoid possible problems.

It will be approved if it is accepted. The approval is more of formality than anything else.

Ubonjoe is right here, seems more like a formality with the authorities as usual making things more complicated than they need to be. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Different situation as you (won't bore you with specifics) but was also told at MTT "special case", "we contact supervisor" etc when asked if I could come *earlier* than the date stated - they do so much checking of your documents prior to even letting you into the room where you get stamped, if they've taken your money and given you the Under Consideration you should be safe.
