The Ministry of Health has discovered 90 people who have been exposed directly or indirectly to a Hungarian man infected with Covid-19.

They all are required to quarantine at home and the hospital. The ministry is searching for other affected people.

Among the 90, one is the Hungarian man’s wife who lives in Siem Reap, and another is a tuk-tuk driver who drove the man around the town to buy paintings. They are being quarantined at Siem Reap Referral Hospital after initial test results were negative.

There is more to this story which shows, in my opinion, he is a very inconsiderate man. He had arrived in Phnom Penh from France via South Korea. He must have had a business or VIP visa, with other mandatory health and financial documentation, as tourist visas are still not being issued. He tested negative on arrival and travelled to Siem Reap by private taxi to be with his Khmer wife. He had to undergo 14 day house quarantine and was tested again after the 14 days. Whilst waiting for the result he breached his quarantine and went shopping for artwork. This time the test proved positive. He is now under further quarantine in hospital - in a locked room I hope!

So, they have home quarantine ?

Up to now, yes provided every single person on the same flight tests negative on arrival; if even one is positive then the whole plane load must isolate in a state designated hotel (at their own expense)

However with thanks to this:

"On September 26, the ministry reported that he escaped from quarantine at home while awaiting test results. However, the ministry announced hours later that he had returned home after buying a painting."

I fear it won't be long before hotel quarantine becomes mandatory for all.

Unfortunately in pretty much all countries compliance with home quarantine is proving unreliable
