Thailand’s PM dismisses speculation over formation of a national government

Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha and Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan have dismissed speculation that governing coalition parties will join with the opposition Pheu Thai Party to form a national government.

 

“You go and ask the one who spread the rumour,” said General Prawit, as he pointed his finger at a group of reporters at Government House today.

 

Interior Minister Anupong Paochinda, meanwhile, shrugged off speculation that he, the Prime Minister and Mr. Chatchai Promlert, the interior Permanent Secretary, are considering setting up a political party.

 

He said that he is not an expert in politics and that the idea of setting up a party has never crossed his mind. Responding to the same question from a reporter, the Prime Minister just said “Sawatdee” (good day) as he abruptly walked away from the reporters, while mumbling that he already had a headache with just one party.

But perhaps they will invite pojaman, maybe she could provide a feminine soothing touch.

I am thinking that the government's ship maybe taking on water...and the pumps have packed up. 

 

Another couple who of big student led protests, an economy in free fall, and a public who have lost faith in the PM. Despite his bluster the PM is a worried man.

Of course they have denied it, anybody seriously expect them to say otherwise?

They are running scared, their days are numbered, and the sooner they are gone, the better for Thailand.

You set up your own party Mr PM by placing who you wanted in your own party and Government. You reap what you sowe.  Good luck with your stress level.

They are not playing nice with cha cha, so he is going to take his ball and leave.

Better the devil you know than the devil you don't. 

If/when they go, who'll fill the void? Highly unlikely to be somebody who actually cares about the country and the well-being of the population. Politicians, the world over, only care about filling their own pockets.

But the quality of life varies between countries! First world country residents are far better off than third world residents!

Very true, but this place will never achieve developed status as long as all the power and wealth belongs to a handful of families. Changing politicians and parties isn't going to change that. 

"I'm not an expert in politics", the secret thought of every politician in the world.

Look all around Asia, democracy still has'nt caught on. China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Burma, Singapore,   most countries in Asia have authoritarian rule!

That is not because the people of those countries have rejected it - they are not allowed it.

 

Then look at Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Japan, Korea, Taiwan. Asian countries, with large populations who elect their governments.

Soon to be ex Army chief Apirat is waiting in the wings. From 2018 when he assumed the position of army chief:

The unelected "PM" said he is not an expert in politics, that's the first time I have ever known of him to speak the truth.

Seems most the Story missing no mention of Thaksin and his Ex Wife Potjaman?
From other news sources it was coalition partners spreading the rumors first but something is definitely going on.

how many of the ministers and deputies running the show are actually elected MP's

 

This is exactly the problem, the people vote in elections and those that are running things are appointed
