First flight carrying Chinese tourists flying to Thailand on Oct 8

 

   

BANGKOK (NNT) - On October 8, a group of 150 Chinese nationals, with special tourist visas (STV), will be the first foreign tourists allowed into Thailand on a chartered flight under the conditional entry scheme for selected groups of foreigners, endorsed by the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).

 

Tourism and Sports Minister Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, said they will fly directly to Phuket on a chartered Air Asia flight, adding that another, smaller group of seven Chinese businessmen will arrive at Suvarnabhumi International Airport on a private jet on the same day.

 

On October 25, another group of 126 Chinese tourists, from Guangdong, will fly to Suvarnabhumi airport on a chartered Thai Smile flight and a group of 120 tourists from Scandinavia and Schengen countries will arrive at Suvarnabhumi airport on a Thai Airways International flight on November 1.

 

Regarding alternative local state quarantine facilities to accommodate these tourists, he said three hotels in Phuket and one each in Chon Buri and the northeastern province of Buriram have been chosen.

On the bright side, they've already expanded to include countries other than in Scandanavia...

 

....probably didn't get enough takers to fill the 120 seats

They are letting people with STV in? Do they have to wear condoms and a wrist bracelet?

Beside maybe some business people or people with families/relationships in Thailand , i do not expect anybody else going .

Given the past 8 months I want to offer a really Sh!#ty response to this... 

 

A step in the right direction, whichever nation is permitted entry. 

 

 

Its time the world moved on - we know this is not a SARS-CoV-1 or a MERS killer impacting 30% of the worlds population with 10% or 30% Case fatality rates. The panic is surely over. 

 

SARS-CoV-2 and consequent serious and life threatening cases of Covid-19 in some is a major issue which needs continuing attention, but it seems no more so than many other serious viruses and diseases.

They are 130 Chinese businessmen

This number may be slightly higher or lower. 

 

They are executive's from CP group.

The director is Mr Dhanin{ first name just Google CP group} 

He is based in Bangkok and a billionaire. 

They arrive on Thai Airlines flight. 

They paid 173k Bht for the trip which includes Visa, quarantine, covid testing, insurance and 3 meals a day. 

The trip was arranged by a travel agency authorised by the govt. 

They will spend 90 days in Phuket. 

They are not regarded as normal tourists. 

I doubt they would be required to wear tracking bracelets. 

 

They are on a serous business trip, more than likely property. 

The govt is working with them. 

The STV is being used as a front to get the wholesale bargain basement buy up underway. 

 

Throwing in a few plane loads of wealthy Scandinavians to use their Condos and play on Jomtiem beach, makes it look good.

Thats the sum of it. Phuket is being stripped of its virus hit assets, property and land, by the Chinese who caused this disaster in the first place, Thai government trying to say these are tourists is completely false. Its a land grab pure and simple.

Knowing my luck I will still have to run the gauntlet to pay my electric bill in my local 7/11 as these 120 "tourists" descend by the bus load to buy their Chinese snacks and Thai trinkets.

Im waiting to see the Marching bands and the Fanfare welcoming these pioneers knowing Thai's they will milk it to the last drop 

As I surmised in another article, these probably are only Chinese business proxies only here to buy up anything and everything they can lay their greedy little Chinese communist hands on. Only a matter of time before the powers that be here rewrite the rules making it easier for them to straight out really own things because they will have PR's while all the others from all other countries are treated like lepers and denied. From a cynical perspective the Chinese trip is only that of a simulation for a commie invasion and possible assimilation of the Thai to be duck quaking commies. I surely pray it isn't. 

 

I would never ever ever want to be quarantined in one of those hotels with so many Chinese. You would have a continual migraine from their yapping.

 

Don't figure that it is totally swept under the carpet and they are rewarded even after creating and letting loose the virus either purposely or by mistake..

Yeah, I was also a bit (confused) regarding these Chinese Tourists - as the (normal) Chinese Tourists come on a 1 week package deal = a few days in BKK, a few days in Pattaya, maybe a quick trip to Phuket - and then quickly back to China?

Such (normal) Tourists would never be able to fit-in the 14 days quarantine???

Yep! Any reasonably smart thinking person needs to look at it this way. In the end the Chinese commie part has a huge hidden agenda of world domination, and what's so pathetic is countries over look it and cater to them and eventually get swallowed up by their fist. I think their manufactured virus was just part of their ultimate plan to catch the world off guard.

when will the first Chinese kid be caught crapping on beach road pavement (sidewalk) in Pattaya with a  toilet available not 50m away? Not too long it seems. Maybe time to start avoiding the City again, just as before.  Shame, I was enjoying the peace and quiet.

No worries man, their numbers will be nowhere near the pre-covid numbers, you will hardly notice any difference.

Are you joking? You can hear a Chinese person eating at 50 yards away let alone sucking their teeth after they finished, and not to mention how utterly boisterous they are wanting everyone to hear them squawk.. If you don't want to hear them then better to take the hearing aid out or blow a couple firecrackers next to your ear drums to render yourself deaf. CM was a literal torture factory everyday having them here and this is exactly where they will end up coming back to again. Sitting on an airplane with them makes you just want to go into the bathroom and start punching yourself.

This is a case of the Thai Government changing FIFO to LOFI. (last out, first in) lol

 

I wonder if the Chinese Government will approve their exit visa's. Everything I have read indicates they want their population to only vacation in China. Somebody count noses with red passports on the arrival flights.

And their charter flight will take off from where? And those tourists desperate to get to Thailand will, on top of all their other expenses, have to pay to get from their country to wherever their flight to Thailand leaves from. Right. And Europeans and Scandinavians just love to wear GPS wristbands so the authorities know where they are at all times. Perhaps they're coming for the snow at Christmas.

Is the Phoenix all cleaned and repainted for the first group tourists

That's because Thailand only attracts bottom of the barrel Chinese. The wealthy, cultured Chinese - the ones Thailand likes to pretend it attracts - go elsewhere. I've often witnessed Chinese tourists at my hotel in Dubai over several years, and they are always polite and well-mannered.
