The ruling Palang Pracharath Party is seeking a suitably qualified candidate for the Bangkok governor election, to compete against former Pheu Thai leader Chadchart Sittipunt.

Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan, who leads Palang Pracharath, will hold a meeting on the Bangkok election next week, his party deputy Buddhipongse Punnakanta said on Friday.

The party is now considering whether to register its contender as a Palang Pracharath candidate or an independent, said Buddhipongse, who is also Digital Economy and Society minister.

Asked about speculation that former national police chief Pol General Chakthip Chaijinda will be chosen as the party’s candidate, he said the final decision would be made by Prawit.

Buddhipongse said he was confident that the chosen Palang Pracharath candidate would be able to solve Bangkokians’ problems effectively.

Tipped to be governor....or chosen?

Will there be an election for Chaktip....or a raising of hands in the senate only?

Enough is never enough.
