Ex-convict goes on stabbing spree at Bangkok mall when told to wear mask

A man went berserk and stabbed three people at a shopping mall in the Ngam Wong Wan neighbourhood in Bangkok on Saturday night after being told to wear a face mask before entering the building.

 

At 8.30pm, police were notified that three people, including security guards and a delivery man, were injured after an assault at The Mall Ngam Wong Wan branch.

 

The injured were sent to Nonthavej Hospital.

 

The assailant, 33, reportedly came to the mall without wearing a face mask and a security guard asked him to leave. He then had an argument with the guard before going berserk and stabbing people nearby.

 

He was identified as a former convict who had served jail terms three times in Chiang Mai prison for robbery. The police also found an HIV patient card on him.

 

He was taken to Muang Nonthaburi Police Station for interrogation and initially charged with attempt to murder.

I've never seen the word "beserk" used in a newspaper article

A post baiting another member has been removed as well as the reply. 

Once again a man child has a hissy fit and throws a tantrum when told that he can not do what he wants, and to wear a mask.  Sometimes, one has to believe that if parents would be held responsible as to the wrongs there offspring commit, even at a later age, because the parents did not kick there rear ends and teach them the difference between right and wrong and respect, but instead believed in this FACE issue to much, if that would change anything.  OK, with that being written now I will put the inside voice away and go slap myself because after reading what I wrote I know it would never occur and is laughable.

I haven't seen or used the word beserk for so long I had forgotten it existed!  As I said on farcebook "With some criminals they should be locked up and the key thrown away. "  What I forgot to add was some should be executed to save the taxpayers some money.

I wouldn’t do myself but I understand????

I know what berserk means, I've always known it to be a word you only say in conversation and never in a written professional form

The reason why he went totally berserk was "the loss of face syndrome"  that all thais suffer from.

Call me thai hater if you like but this is a fact.

Some people get so touchy when told what to do.

Again Thai culture is  imbedded  into the minds of many  Thai

Saving face  seems a ridiculous  excuse for many  act of  violence  in Thailand 

Which is totally against   the Budhissed  culture  anyway

Reinsertion?
It seems that social reintegration did not work in this case.  It is also possible that this guy had mistaken the face mask for a muzzle.

I know you know this but let's be fair, there are many videos on countless sites showing people from many countries throwing hissy fits when asked to wear a mask. The English woman in the Co-op who went berserk and smashed umpteen bottles of wine while shouting  "I've done nothing wrong", stands out. The maskless old American man demanding to be served in a fast food joint. The French bus driver murdered after asking three men to wear a mask ... The server in Hong Kong attacked by a young man ...

With due respect, what has this got to do with going berserk for not putting on a covid face mask and why print it??

It is a theory all Thai haters suffer from, call me what you like but this is a fact ????

The use of the word bezerk made me stop and repeat it out loud to hear how it sounds. The mention of the HIV patient card has still got me wondering.

Ok.....I read in the Article "berserk"????????????

I think future generations will get a lot of miles from the Mask debate.  The law says you shall wear a mask.   But if you take it off are you breaking a law , what law.  Go into a restaurant and you must wear a mask , at what point do you remove the mask , Food on fork , mask down , food in .  I think it is getting very silly.

yes I hate to wear a mask, I only wear one when going into supermarket but there are more and more Thais not wearing them still I have to wear one because I not Thai, I a dirty farang

Well, I suppose that's good, because all the research tells us that corporal punishment is not the best way to raise your child and more likely contributes to those sorts of negative outcomes in adults. But don't let the facts get in the way of a good rant, and a nostalgia trip back to the good ol' days.
