Ex-Deputy Minister Nipon found at fault by NACC for malfeasance in office

Thailand’s former Deputy Interior Minister Nipon Boonyamanee, of the Democrat Party, has been found to have committed malfeasance in office, by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), for his refusal to accept delivery of two multi-purpose vehicles, worth about 51 million baht, bought by the Songkhla Provincial Administration Organization (PAO) in 2013.

An e-auction was held for the procurement of the vehicles and a deal was signed between the winning bidder and Songkhla PAO on August 28th, 2013, when Nipon was the PAO mayor.

Nipon, however, refused to accept delivery of the two vehicles, even though the inspection committee had agreed to accept them. Nipon then ordered the formation of a new inspection committee, reportedly after receiving a complaint from an unsuccessful bidder. Again, he refused to accept the vehicles, claiming that there was price collusion in the bidding process.

So he's in the wrong for refusing to accept 2 very expensive vehicles, which he must

have thought were overpriced at 25 .5 Million THB, what kind of multi purpose vehicles

are they, to have such a high price.....

Tip of the iceberg!  Corruption is so common place.

Obviously he was not paid his cut.

Flying cars???

I was going to write..."being punished for doing his job properly"......but then on reflection that is never going to be the case.

I bet there is a few ministers looking over their shoulders
