herfiehandbag
I think that what will drive "opening up" here will be the decisions of neighbouring countries. If Vietnam, (in particular), Malaysia and Indonesia decide to re-open to tourists with a simple and cost neutral testing regime either on departure (doctor's certificate?) and/or a test on arrival, and start to scoop up whatever tourists wish to travel to South East Asia then the authorities here will be forced to very rapidly change their tune. The most likely tourist sources are probably going to be Korea, Japan and Taiwan at a guess. The economic devastation in Europe and the USA will reduce travellers from those countries. The question is, which is more dangerous to self preservation? Covid itself, or bread line riots?
