Hello,

To request an extension of the 1 year visa to support a Thai wife the above is the new requirement. But what kind of proof can exactly be shown to the immigration and be accepted as proof :

1/ for the retirement visas, the immigration ( at least few years ago ) was not interested to see the pensions certificates ( even translated in Thai ) but instead was requesting a letter from your own embassy that recapitulate the amount of your pension(s). Is it the same here ?

An American friend told me that in his Embassy in Bkk they have requested from him only to swear that he get an income of more than 40k by month...

2/ If you have been the owner or still are the owner of a foreign company, many times you wont have any certificate of pensions ( depend of the country of course ) or a very small one. In this case, what could be shown and accepted as proof ?

Monthly payments made to a foreign Bank account or a Thai one ?

Certificate from your own Embassy again ?

Many Thanks.

Foreign income must be confirmed in a letter from your Embassy. That is the only acceptable method. What your Embassy requires will be up to them. Immigration can request to see supporting paperwork for the Embassy letter figure but it does not seem to be a frequent request and believe bank paperwork would be acceptable if asked.
