BANGKOK (NNT) - The Kingdom of Thailand is set to welcome the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, on an official visit designed to enhance cooperation by the two nations in recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Scheduled for October 14 - 15, 2020, the State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, is to work with Thailand on strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Thailand and China amidst regional and global challenges, including those posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the visit, Mr. Yi is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha at Government House and meet with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between Thailand and China in bilateral and regional frameworks as well as to promote socio-economic recovery from the COVID-19 situation.

Throughout the two day stay, the State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China and his delegation will strictly observe Thailand’s COVID-19 prevention measures, with a view to ensuring public health and the safety of the Thai people.

Too bad Thailand can't help in the stage 3 trials of the Chinese SARS-Cov 2 vaccines...there isn't enough virus infection/transmission in the local population to do the tests.

China had the golden week from oct 1st to oct 8th with people traveling within the country, now they're back and the infections started, it appears they are resting 9 million people because they found a cluster.... So they don't have it under control, they are like any other country, glad Thailand didn't go ahead with allowing them in

????I hope the Chinese won’t be involved in the production of the vaccine that  Thailand just signed up to with the British Government.

Need to realize that Thailand is geographically . economically , socially , much closer to China than to any western country ...

Some people like to see Thailand as if it would be a country that is part of the ' western commonwealth ' , but it is not .

14% of the thai population have an ethnic chinese background .

It is part of south east asia , and Thais generally prefer to do business with people of similar cultural background .

... we know that the majority of Thai-Chinese established themselves in Thailand over three waves of migration, dating back to the 13th Century ...

the qingdao cluster cases are all associated with a hospital treating imported cases, apparently unrelated to spring festival.  probably too early for golden week cases to show up as clusters, give it another week for those to start appearing.

So what? I doubt that the majority of the Thai Chinese appreciate how the small political elite in Thailand, which obviously is bought and paid by Xi and the CCP, kowtows to Xi and the CCP and sells the country to them. Also the Chinese people of Hong Kong and Taiwan despise Xi and the CCP.

Honestly you can't make this stuff up. In all honesty hands down the worst leader of all time. Everything shows just how weak he really is. Non English speaking disaster on legs.

China releases the virus but now the right person to talk to about fixing it? first they have to admit what exactly it is????
