Colonoscopy

Featured Replies

Has anyone had a Colonoscopy on Koh Samui? Would you mind sharing your experience and costs.

Thanks

Perhaps just me, but if I was needing one I'd go somewhere more populated than Samui. Diagnosing is usually better when one has a lot of practice at it, whatever one is diagnosing.

I had a colonoscopy done at Bangkok Samui Hospital about 3 years ago. I don"t  remember the cost, I think

about 25,000 Baht.

I agree with thaibeachlovers but maybe for a different reason.

The specialists here on Samui are flown in. Any follow up treatment and you tend to have to go to their 'local' hospital.

eg I have been seeing the urologist at Bangkok Samui for some 5 years but for MRI or biopsy - I have to fly to BNH in Bangkok.

The other problem at the moment - lack of tourists. The private hospitals are murdering the insurance companies. They are struggling to generate revenue.

A friend went for a minor stomach op. Quoted 40,000 - 50,000 baht. Bill to the insurance company - just under 100,000 baht. He contacted the insurance company and told them that there were many things on the bill that they did not do. The insurance company did nothing but my friend knows that his premiums will go up next year.

Maybe try the government hospital in Surat.
