Popular Post placeholder
Apparently, the Trump campaign is complaining because the 3rd Presidential debate is supposed to be about foreign policy. But what would have been the 3rd debate is only the 2nd because Trump stomped all over the rules in the first and wouldn't accept the consequences of his coming down with covid and his own bad behavior. So he's not going to get that foreign policy debate but instead more about domestic policy where he's not popular on most issues. Whether it's Covid, immigration, health care, or alternative energy Trump is out of sync with most Americans. Also, his ignorance about domestic matter will fare poorly against Biden's much deeper command of the issues. - a command which Biden has repeatedly demonstrated in interviews and public fora. These give the lie to all that desperate nonsense about Biden being senile.

mtls2005
"I get this stuff" Of course trump used to love to brag about his uncle, John G. Trump (MIT Prof.), and that he (president) shared is his uncle's vast scientific knowledge, which enabled him to deal with the Coronavirus epidemic far better than Fauci, et al. Go figure. Then of course he is also not looking at the economy, starvation and everything else that his lockdown recommendations have caused. Besides all of these issues that are causing worse problems than the coronavirus, he is doing a great job.................................... Dr Fauci is director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases....it is not his job or concern on what happens to cardiac patients, cancer patients, mental health issues, etc...His job is to give guidance on an infectious pandemic. It is somebody else's concern to tie all of the other issues together and develop a NATIONAL RESPONSE...you know....a leader....of the country....something the United States is currently ill equipped and in obvious short supply of at the moment. 7 1 1

Popular Post TallGuyJohninBKK
Here's Trump's legacy on the coronavirus: Quote The coronavirus pandemic has caused nearly 300,000 more deaths than expected in a typical year The coronavirus pandemic has left about 299,000 more people dead in the United States than would be expected in a typical year, two-thirds of them from covid-19 and the rest from other causes, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Tuesday. The CDC said the novel coronavirus, which causes covid-19, has taken a disproportionate toll on Latinos and Blacks, as previous analyses have noted. But the CDC also found, surprisingly, that it has struck 25- to 44-year-olds very hard: Their “excess death” rate is up 26.5 percent over previous years, the largest change for any age group. https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/coronavirus-excess-deaths/2020/10/20/1e1d77c6-12e1-11eb-ba42-ec6a580836ed_story.html Edited October 21, 2020 by TallGuyJohninBKK 1

Fauci is a civil servant, so can get away with making contradictory statements ( the same thing has occurred in the UK with disastrous results). Trump earlier on was following Fauci and his contradictions, but because he is a politician he can't get away with making these contradictory statements. If Trump is at fault it is because he failed to do adequate research into Fauci's qualifications. Just cos he's been there for decades does not grant him immunity from being ludicrous. Anyone who's been in a work environment where a person is allowed to stay on and on and on knows how poisonous the atmosphere can get. In the meantime, the doc is adored by a lot of suburban housewives who will not be voting for Trump. And that should make him happy as he approaches 80..... Dr Fauci is fairly close to being the top expert in his profession. Anthony Stephen Fauci is an American physician and immunologist who has served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984. You don't get into that position if you are stupid. Can I ask you whatqualifications you have as a physician and immunologist or even any medical qualifications you may have? You are trotting out the lines of President Trump who also has no medical qualifications and is a bankrupt, a serial liar (well over 2x,xxx lies in less than 4 years) who is the POTUS and probably the worst one that I can remember and my memory goes back to JFK in the early 1960s. Trump has done more damage to the USA and its relations with the rest of the world than the rest of the previous Presidents put together. He has the attention span of a 5 year old child and acts like one too. He seems to think that he can do anything he wants as POTUS and that nobody can stop him. If anybody on the WH staff speaks out against him they get fired. He is being rejected by many republicans in the house, senate and by many individual states as well. More citizens voted against him, but the Electoral College voted narrowly in his favour, so you can't even blame the citizens of the USA for him. I truly hope that he is voted out on November 3rd and hands over the office of POTUS peacefully. After that let the cards fall as they may. 7

chilli42
Trump is an accident waiting to happen ... and in some cases has already happened. Fauci on the other hand is capable and knowledgeable ... that does not make his conclusions and advice right. Every "expert" runs their knowledge and expertise through their own personal filter/lens. So agree with Fauci's command of the facts but disagree with his conclusions/recommended action plan.

Or, in other words, never underestimate the stupidity of the American public. Voting for Trump twice is the epitome of stupidity. I’m betting 45 % of that population will cast Republican. Clearly not. Still touting the same nonsense that tax cuts pay for themselves and that allowing corporations to repatriate funds will result in more investment and growth. Climate change. Still in denial. Keep in mind that Republicans were the ones who came up with the idea of the carbon tax way back when. Racial Issues? Nixon's southern strategy, Reagan's welfare queens, George H.W. Bush's Willie Horton ad. Appointing justices who support undercutting voting rights of minorities. Among other things. Abortion rights? Under George Bush government took all kinds of antiabortion measures. Pushed hard for abstinence funding. Cut off aid to family planning abroad to organizations that supported abortion rights. Science? Starting with Reagan began promoting junk science to support regulations and de-regulation Environment. Starting with Reagan began a policy of denialism about pollution. Opening up protect lands to mining. Deregulation to support increases in polluting activities. This list is hardly exhaustive. Only on international trade do Trump and the Republicans differ significantly from the previous Republican stances. 2
