Thats is a easy answer ... and no it isnt the orange person .

But a vaccine might be there by end of this year . This does not at all mean everybody will be vaccinated by January . 1st vaccine test outcomes are expected end of November , so checking all data and approval might be this year . Now all companies did take a shortcut on the vaccine , producing it in large numbers when phase 3 started , But producing in large numbers is not 1 billion in 2 months . Also after that comes the distribution , and giving it to people , within as certain order . This all does mean it can be well in 2022 before everybody can get his/her shot .

Actually it is more like 1.8 million of actual tourists, and the rest are people who

do a stop over at BKK on their way to another country. Keep dreaming TAT.

The shortest time scale ever, to bring a vaccine through pre-clinic, Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3 tests was just short of 5 years. And now, with the B.Gates promoted “telescoping” of the tests, we suddenly manage that in less than 1 year? What about checking for longterm effects?

 

Add in to that: all those vaccine developments, which are speedwise on top of the WHO list, are RNA or DNA based vaccines - all of these categories were rejected in former years for human use. In reality, it’s a huge genetic experiment, but the laboratory rats are the worldwide humanity ...

 

I also do not understand, how governments can pre-order vaccines with taxpayers money, which are not officially released.

Add in to this, that these showed ~70% side effects (some as severe as level 3) with fever, pain, muscle ache, headache, so that they apply in parallel Paracetamol. Even worse: some cases showed spinal cord inflammation and had to be taken out of the tests.

All this with volunteers below 50 - so exactly not the high risk group, we have to protect most of Covid19 and show historically the worst vaccination side effects: those above 65 ...

A i am no vaccine /virus specialist and i not read all data .

B phase 1 , phase 2 and phase 3 are all done . They speeding up the procedure due to the needed urgency and all companies working on it speed it up , taking money/research from other medicine /vaccine research in order to do so . Also , all data collected from all phases is in speed time investigated by the cdc/who/ ...

C pre order vaccines , this gives the companies the money needed to already make the vaccine in large numbers before all phases are finished , and IF they get a yes , they can hand out already 100 million or more doses .

D all vaccines have mild side effects , had a flu shot 2 days ago , and yesterday i had very mild headache and a slightly painful arm . Nothing to worry about i'd say . The person with the spinal cord infection was a person in phase 3 research , and as far as i heard he died . He was however cleared of the research since he was in the trial but he received the surrogate . Halted and sick persons during vaccine research is very normal since it involves 30.000 to 60.000 people of ALL ages . Phase 2 is only small group and only in healthy younger persons , the phase 3 is large scale / all groups including 70+y olds . 

E companies who are in fastest are so fast since they where involved in research of corona virus pre covid , aka SARS , and a few others who came along ( also corona viral strand ) . They had like something near ready for testing but where stopped because the SARS and other corona virus went away .

E Why ? well why not ? you want this situation longer or you want to get back as soon as possible to normal 2019 society ? Vaccines are not bad ,and did safe many many lives in history .

It looks increasingly as though for every actual infection in urban areas, several more people are developing resistance without infection.

 

If my estimates are correct, we are very close to 'peak Covid' now, and that the highest daily number of cases (globally) will soon be behind us. Europe, the Americas, Africa, Western Asia and the Indian subcontinent are all likely to be effectively post-Covid within a few months.

 

But for China, SE Asia and Australasia comes the dilemma - having effectively run away from the bug, they will lack the innate resistance to travel to those countries where it has become endemic, and will also be unable to welcome visitors for the same reason.

 

It could be a full year before they feel able to engage tourism in either direction - possibly longer..

They'll be lucky to get 8 tourists, never mind the million bit.

Don't say that as if it affects everyone. I've had 2 flu jabs and ZERO effects from either.

 

I will not be taking a corona vaccine till it's been available and used  for at least a year, as it's not whether it works that concerns me, but the side effects not revealed by a rushed release.

 

PS I'm not an antivaccer as I've had all proven vaccines in my lifetime.

Mumps, measles vaccine didn't exist in my childhood, so I got "vaccinated" the natural way by being deliberately infected.

I don't know why the "man made climate change" people are not celebrating. Less planes = less atmospheric pollution = good result for the planet.

I'm also a bit surprised that so few think it will be better for LOS to have loads less tourists trashing the environment in LOS. I certainly do. If not for such large numbers Maya Bay would still be open.

Oh i take my headphones off for this 1 .  Eating ain't the same at all , true , i'll give you that .  But <deleted> do you know about it , tbh nothing and neither do i . Saying it is bad because you read it somewhere is just like saying i see a tree and i read lottery numbers . I trust the official organs who do say yes or no . You do know that Russia supposed to have a vaccine and China has also , but they did not do 3th phase . Their 3th phase is a real live test on military and hospital personal . Is it a good test , sure , cant be better , but there aren't any safety rules .  I believe the regulations are there , even in fast track , to get things done as fast as possible . Saying i do not take it is ok , but if it means i got to stay here in Belgium and cannot come to Thailand then we got a different story . Same like over here , i dont care you visit other people , who am i to say you cant do that . But i got a 2nd lockdown because of that behaviour not even thinking about going to Thailand soon .Vaccines aren't 100% risk free , but they are certainly better then any alternative .

If they f*** this up , then the anti vaxxers won , and much less people are going to get any vaccine in their live . What do you think how they are going to rule , be much easier , being harsher , or just normal  ? I've not had a vaccination since I was 14, when I said no to TB and Smallpox vaccine at school.

65 now, I hardly ever get common infections like flu or colds.

 

Yet all the people I know who get regularly vaccinated are ill constantly, and get flu every other year.

Just off for my morning 10Km cycle.

 

Back on topic,

I'm hoping they don't allow tourist into Thailand for the next 10 years.

It's really nice here without all the other foreigners clogging up immigration, and there's no COVID.

They really do need to stop infected foreigners from high risk countries travelling around the world.

I worked in Tourism industry for many years and I would never ask any "Financial Experts" anything about how Tourism industry operates!This is like going to a shoe maker to have a hair cut! ????...It is impossible to project or guess any numbers with this Pandemic evolving situation,if they want to be respective they should just put out 'let's see how we go forward with this'....The people to ask are the hoteliers, airlines,OTA's... major tourism players who drive  and represent the industry,I live here and I don't believe or  trust any figures which are banded around,(they are mostly algorithm projections without facts or correct disclosed sources), by the time they are posted  the situation and circumstances changes completely!I have witnessed this all summer just gone in Europe with millions of travellers having to alter and cancel their holidays due to various countries protecting their own borders, incoming and outgoing and rightfully so! Just imagine a traveller coming in Quarantine14 days in Thailand,then after their return say UK, 14 day self quarantine rule is activated,or like Thailand did before lockdown! Only had one hep B as worked in hospital, only had tetanus, had polio ( I think ) didn't have MMR as didn't exist when I was young. Parents deliberately infected me with measles and mumps. Had flu jab as caught first cold in decades so a bit worried.

 

Yet, I survived till over 70 with everything ( except my prostate ) working.

1 Million is a big number, 8 million is unrealistic, IMO Thailand will be lucky to hit the 2 million mark in 2021 and that is if they lift the stupid ridiculous entry requirements.
