rooster59
PM and his wife promote 'new way' of celebrating Loy Krathong By THE NATION Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha and his wife Naraporn celebrated the Loy Krathong Festival at Phadung Krung Kasem Canal, located next to Government House in Bangkok’s Dusit district, Government Spokesman Anucha Buraphachaisri said on Friday. “The 'New Way of Loy Krathong to Promote Thai Culture' activity was organised by the Office of the Prime Minister in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, aiming to promote Thai culture and express our gratitude to the rivers that have fed the people and sustained Thai society since the Sukhothai Era,” said Anucha. The Ministry of Culture has proposed a new way of celebrating Loy Krathong Festival by reducing the number of krathongs from one krathong per person to one per family or per department. “Furthermore, we have promoted the use of bio-degradable and locally sourced materials to make krathong, such as banana tree’s bark, Pandanus leaf and bread to reduce waste and avoid polluting the rivers,” added Anucha. Culture Minister Ittipol Khunpluem, members of the Cabinet, government officials and the general public, some of whom were wearing traditional Thai costumes while floating their krathong in the canal, also joined in the activity. Popular Post ThailandRyan
Just use a bathtub at home if you have one, this way you will be able to socially distance as well as wear the traditional Thai costumes Think I will wear this in the house:
Popular Post ratcatcher
I am relieved to see they were all wearing masks. The stench from the canal must have been powerful. It's great to see his wife was clutching his thigh, falling in that water could be fatal to some. 1
tifino
i'd be wary of the bending down and scrunching of rich food belly that much! - and the resultant fart any those masked wearers behind it will not be protected

Popular Post rkidlad
I’ve got a great idea about how you can respect water. Don’t waste it and don’t throw your rubbish in it. And this is something you can do everyday. Sure, it’s not a big annual spectacle where you hope the gods are watching so you get something in return - but this is about respecting water, right? 1 1

connda
While the PM and his wife virtue signal the Covid "New Normal", commoner Thais in villages throughout Thailand engage in the "Old Normal." Booze, dancing, singing, people hanging out with groups of friend and family, fireworks, multiple krathong per family - "Eek!". The World Economic Forum leaders will have to have a word with Gen. Prayut tomorrow. We need to get the Thai pandemic back on track. Edited October 31, 2020 by connda
