Thailand will host 1st PATA Summit

Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Governor Pornsiri Manoharn says Thailand will host the 1st Annual PATA Summit as chosen by the Pacific Asia Travel Association. The first inaugural meeting will be on April 28th next year and more than 500 participants from 40 countries in Asia Pacific will attend this summit.

Business leaders, high ranking executives, and tourism operators will meet in the 1st Annual PATA Summit to open up the new era of international marketing in the tourism industry. The meeting aims to build cooperative strategies between the tourism operators such as hotels and airlines while encouraging the countries in Asia Pacific to express their roles toward the tourism businesses.

The TAT Governor says the summit will directly benefit Thailand’s image and will promote the tourist destinations in the country and tourist security. In the meantime, Thailand will have an opportunity to learn and exchange views with other countries in Asia Pacific.

OK I'll admit it, for a moment there was a frisson when I thought it said PETA {People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals}, cue images of bikini clad protesters outside KFC et al, with a suitably bemused minister in attendance.

But then I realised it was more boring stuff :o sorry....

Regards
