All of these comments and not a one mentioned where this virus originated.

I guess it’s of no importance.  I think China should pay for all vaccines

And yes it’s obvious the expats that are in Thailand don’t want any tourist

they have their pensions and could care less about the unemployed Thais

Thailand could get back to so called normal faster than most of the rest of the world IF they continue to shut out the world. But if they want to open up again they are going to be more on the global timetable.

This doctor thinks that's 2024. I know. Don't scream.

China isn't going to pay.

I wouldn't say expats don't want any tourists but maybe fewer than before might be an improvement.

It depends on how much 'testing' is done and the reliability of those tests.

In my opinion it is a worldwide virus that will not be eradicated and it is something that we really should learn to live with.  Just like the seasonal flu which has always been around.

Thailand has shown that it can keep out the Covid virus by shutting the country off from the rest of the world.  Something that many Thais have wanted to do for years.  But, in the modern world, no country can survive like this for long.  Only the economic simpletons in the military think that that Thailand can survive like this, so many millions o ordinary Thais will suffer before the military admits it was wrong.

I do not think that vaccine will be popular in Thailand because nobody important will be making money from this.

If you are in the military, or government, with your salary and  pension guaranteed, drastic isolationist policies seem to be effective.

The most certain way to avoid food poisoning is to avoid eating any food.   There might be some adverse side effects, but you are certain not get food poisoning.

if you do not go looking for cases of Covid, you probably will no find many.

Test will come when the developed world starts mass vaccination.  Will Thailand let these people in?

Good post, look at the countries like North Korea who cut their citizens off from. the outside  world, is that the citizens ofThailand want a country ruled by a dictator. TBH they are not far away from it now with the current rulers in Parliament.

What I find confusing is that how did these people got tested positive when they are supposed to be Covid free before boarding the plane to Thailand.

That's one of the criteria for issuing the COE in the first place.

Unless those Covid-free cert are actually fake..

When a person is infected it takes time for it to show up in testing.

Also of course there are false negatives and false positives.

Not a fake test. Just that the test results are not always accurate.

So it's really no mystery at all why this happens.

One of the reasons I can’t consider applying for a COE, the last thing I want to do is to pay for a test in the U.K. then be tested positive and end up in a Thai hospital  on a drip etc. Unless you have underlying conditions you don’t need any drugs, there is no cure for viruses.

That was pretty tough to watch.
