Seven more electric passenger boats will be ready for service from November 26 on the Phadung Krung Kasem canal.

A merit-making ceremony and a sacrifice for the boat guardian Mae Ya Nang was held yesterday.

Krungthep Thanakom Co Ltd, the service operator, said on Friday that they had successfully moved all seven electric boats to the canal to join the first electric boat last night. There will be a series of tests of electric charging and test runs throughout this week without passengers.

The eight boats will be open for service to the public from November 26. The official opening ceremony is on November 27. This is considered the first electric passenger boat fleet in the country.

Two boats -- an electric model boat and a diesel boat -- can now be used for 14 trips a day for the Phadung Krung Kasem canal transport service. When seven more electric boats join in providing service, 39 additional trips will run per day, serving every 15 minutes from 6am to 7pm. Sevice will be adjusted during the day according to the number of passengers at each time. On Saturday and Sunday, there will be 23 trips a day.

I wondered why my mother-in-law didn't  come home last night.
