TAT to design special packages for unique group of tourists

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will next year launch campaigns and special travel packages that target a new, unique group of tourists.

 

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT executive director of tourism products, said the aim was to create travel packages for single people, such as boat trips to temples where the traveller can make merit and pray for a partner.

 

She added that TAT has already discussed this idea with boat operators and a package should be ready before the end of this year.

 

Thapanee went on to say that TAT plans to design unique packages for groups like LGBTQ, food lovers, those seeking physical or spiritual retreats or even digital nomads.

i suppose they've got to do somthing to justify their existence while tourist arrivals are in their hundreds.rather than millions. however, basically they just have to wait it out until the vaccine has been rolled out around the world then tourists will be able to return without a COE, covid insurance, quarrantine, etc. probabaly late Q1/Q2 2021. they should be focusing on preparing/refurbishing/developing tourist infrastructure for this return.

 

At the TAT they don't have brainstorming sessions, they have brainfarting sessions.

sounds like a China idea. Otherwise it's so far so good at keeping the door closed to pox filled countries..

 

sounds to me like they are running out of ideas for the Chinese tour groups and need more options to gouge money from them while they bus them around  - this is definitely not being considered with western tourists in mind

Isn't this the kind of things travel companies do?  And they don't need a government funded budget.

Disband them now.  And then consider what use the Tourist Police are.

They will get a special package at the airport - their dog collar for tracking.

Surely that should read "single people pay for a partner"?

Partner will surely disappointed with them going on holiday without them

I can sense that cars might continue to drive through Pattya's former so famous Walking Street after this competition – I've read that in older time single foreigners made merit and prayed for a partner here, and like places, especially due to a reputation of positive results – but perhaps the package is not intended to aim at foreign single tourists...????????

More seriously any attempt to boost tourism is great for those depending on the industry...????
