cables will need to be re rated as underground they will run hot and possibley catch fire ,they cannot stay the same size when buried

Ah! that's the clever bit, run the electrical cables in with the water pipes and there you have natural cooling and automatic fire suppression.

Smart thinking

I like the pun!  I recall that after the middle of Pattaya Klang was dug up at the top end, it wasn't long before the conduits saw the light of day again in order to rectify another unrelated problem.  I'm convinced there is some connivance between the utility companies.  They make sure that there is no possibility of two or more companies co-ordinating their time schedules so that the road only needs to be dug up once to do two jobs - they just take turns.  The best example I've seen of cable overloading (so far) is at the junction of South Pattaya Road and Sukhumvit.   Not only do they fail to fix it, they play safe, and paint the base of the pillar red and white suggesting it's not a good place to park.

I think that road pictured above is actually a private road  and that's the reason it's such a potholed mess

maybe also the reason for the Iconic ( world class ) leaning telegraph pole of Pattaya tourist attraction being there for so many years already ????

I got one just like it in front of my house.  Not as many cables certainly,  but give it time.
