File a TM27 online ???

Featured Replies

Is it possible to file a tm27 online?

That is not possible.

Only a TM30 report can be done online after registering.

Are any supporting documents other than passport required (ie: condo lease contract)?

A tm30? Or did you mean a TM47?  I thought landlord files tm30..

A TM47 form is for 90 day reporting.

The owner or the possessor or tenant can do a TM30 report. You can register for online TM30 reporting as a tenant.

You would likely also need a TN30 report to do the TM27.

Rental agreement and signed copies of the owners ID card and house book.

Afaik there is not one immigration office which is trying to enforce the TM27. In most cases you are not even required to submit one. Safe yourself the time and just don't do it, same as everybody else.

@jackdd is correct!  I Wish I had read his post before today.  I just came back from IMM where I tried to submit my TM27, along with a copy of my landlords house book, ID card, and copy of the TM30 he filed, only to be told by the Imm officer that it was not necessary since my landlord had already filed a TM30.  She said that the TM30 and TM 27 are "same-same" as she put it.  I'm guessing the only purpose of a TM27 is if you are not in a situation where a TM30 is filed (like you buy a condo, perhaps??)

So...for anyone else falling into this trap...If your landlord files a TM30 (which he/she MUST do for you),  you do NOT need to file a TM27.  Just get a copy of the TM30 and staple it into your passport and you are good-to-go.
